Can anyone submit a vehicle for consideration?
The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance is by invitation only. Amelia Chairman
Bill Warner invites those vehicles that he feels best exemplify the annual theme
and class structure.
Several factors are taken into consideration for accepting a vehicle for the
Amelia Island Concours. The following information and guidelines should help
clarify the consideration given to each vehicle.
What is the
criteria for submitting a vehicle?
Vehicles newer than 1974 are generally not considered.
Each year special consideration is given to the "featured class."
Special consideration is also given to those vehicles associated with the
career of the Honoree.
In the area of racecars, Mr. Warner does from time to time invite a newer
model if the vehicle adds a sense of completeness and balance to a particular
class.
If you would like to have a vehicle considered, please observe the
following steps:
- Only 225 automobiles will be selected. The earlier you submit your
automobile for consideration, the better. Individuals that wait until the
deadline usually find the field has been set.
- Submit two photos (one front and one side elevation). Due to the volume
received, photos cannot be returned.
- Include a brief history of the vehicle.
- Your submission (photos and history) must be postmarked no later than
October 1, 2009.
- Sorry, NO e-mail submissions are accepted.
- Photos and histories postmarked after October 1, 2009 will be
held over and may be considered for future events.
