The son of a career
naval officer, Leedy himself joined the military immediately following his college graduation.
During his 20 years as an Army officer, he attended the prestigious Defense Language Institute
at the Presidio and became certified as a West European Foreign Area Specialist. After retiring
from the military, Leedy managed the International Intermodal Expo in Atlanta before opening an
AT&T Authorized Sales Agency in Florida. He has served as rallymaster for the Pebble Beach
Sports Car Club, president of the Peachtree Mercedes-Benz Club (MBCA) in Atlanta, and founded
the Southern Stars Section of the MBCA that boasts 375 members between Daytona and Savannah.
Leedy, an original founder of The Amelia, serves as the Vice Chairman of the Foundation.
